Blind Boxes 101: Re-Ment Mini Scenes
Share
If you’ve ever stood in front of a wall of tiny, adorable boxes thinking, “Okay… but what am I actually buying?” — you’re not alone.
Blind boxes are one of the most fun categories we carry because they combine collecting, display, and a little hit of surprise. They can also be confusing if you’re new to them.
So here’s a quick, no-pressure guide to how blind boxes work at Fan-Tastic — with a special spotlight on one of our favorite vendors: Re-Ment.
What is a blind box?
A blind box is a sealed collectible where you choose the series, but the exact design inside is randomized.
That means:
- You’re picking the theme (Animal Crossing, Pokémon, Kirby, Peanuts, etc.)
- You’re not picking the specific figure/scene until you open it
For collectors, that surprise is part of the fun. For gift-givers, it’s a cute way to give something themed without needing to know the exact character someone already owns.
Why Re-Ment is different (in the best way)
A lot of blind boxes are single mini figures. Re-Ment is more like a miniature scene — tiny props, tiny furniture, tiny food, tiny everything.
They’re designed to be:
- Displayable (desk setups, shelves, terrariums, dollhouse vibes)
- Mix-and-match friendly (many pieces work across sets)
- High detail (Re-Ment is known for the craftsmanship)
If you love cozy, “tiny world” collectibles, Re-Ment is a great place to start.
Popular Re-Ment themes we carry
We’re currently leaning into Re-Ment lines that match what our customers already love:
- Animal Crossing: cozy rooms, furniture pieces, and that “decorate your island” energy
- Pokémon: nature scenes, seasonal vibes, and mini displays that look amazing on a shelf
- Kirby: pastel cuteness + dreamy display pieces (often in terrarium-style designs)
- Peanuts: classic, nostalgic scenes with Snoopy charm
If you want to browse, here are a few examples:

- Re-Ment Kirby: Tale of the Fountain of Dreams Terrarium Blind Box
- Pokémon Re-Ment Forest: Weather Tree Box
A quick word about “chase” pieces and odds
Some blind box sets have designs that are harder to pull than others. You might hear collectors call these “chases.”
Two important things can be true at the same time:
- Buying more can increase your chances
- Nothing is ever guaranteed (that’s the nature of randomized, sealed collectibles)
Our best advice: choose a series where you’d be happy with any pull. That’s how blind boxes stay fun.
Our blind box policy (online vs in-store)
Because blind boxes are sealed and randomized, we handle them a little differently depending on how you buy.
Online orders
Blind boxes are final sale online. Once a sealed, randomized item leaves the shop, we can’t verify what was opened or swapped — so we keep it consistent and fair for everyone.
If something arrives damaged or missing pieces, reach out and we’ll help you troubleshoot.
In-store purchases (our “open it here” option)
If you buy a blind box in-store and open it in the shop, you can swap your pull with the display model (when available).
This is especially helpful if:
- You’re buying a gift and want a specific look
- You’re trying to avoid duplicates
- You just want to pick your favorite scene
If you’re not sure whether a display model is available for a set, ask us before you open — we’re happy to help.
Want a recommendation?
Tell us:
- Your fandom (Animal Crossing / Pokémon / Kirby / Peanuts)
- Your budget
- Whether it’s for you or a gift
…and we’ll point you toward a set that’s a great match.
Have a Fan-Tastic day!
